Dallas rapper Yella Beezy has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection to the 2020 shooting death of fellow rapper Mo3 on a busy interstate, according to court records.
Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, was indicted by a Dallas County grand jury. Prosecutors say he hired a man named Kewon White to kill Mo3—real name Melvin Noble.
So far, authorities haven’t revealed why they believe Conway orchestrated the hit, and court records don’t list an attorney for him. Attempts to reach his reps for comment haven’t been successful.
After news of the arrest broke, Noble’s mother, Nichole Williams Noble, posted on Facebook: “Justice for my baby!!!!”
Mo3 was gunned down on November 11, 2020, while driving on I-35 in South Dallas. According to police, White pulled up alongside him, got out of his car with a gun, and started chasing Noble down the highway. Mo3 tried to run, but White opened fire, hitting both him and a bystander. The bystander survived, but Mo3 later died at the hospital.
White and another man, Devin Brown, were already indicted in connection to Mo3’s murder, though their cases are still pending. White, who was also sentenced in 2022 to nearly nine years in federal prison for a separate gun charge, is accused of being the trigger man.
As for Yella Beezy, he’s best known for his 2017 hit That’s On Me and Bacc At It Again, his 2019 track with Quavo and Gucci Mane. He’s no stranger to gun violence either—back in 2018, he survived a shooting while driving in Lewisville, Texas, after someone pulled up and shot him three times.
Meanwhile, Mo3 had built a major following before his death, with over 800,000 Instagram followers and a breakout remix of Errybody with Boosie Badazz.
Now, nearly four years after his murder, the case has taken another dramatic turn—with one of Dallas’ biggest rap names at the center of it.
