Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black is back, and it’s bringing even more drama, scandal, and family secrets! After debuting the first eight episodes in October 2024, Netflix has now released the second half of season 1, with another eight episodes packed with twists and turns that fans are dying to see unfold.
The show follows the stories of two women, Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) and Mallory (Crystle Stewart), whose lives couldn’t be more different. Kimmie’s a stripper working off a fake debt as part of a shady criminal ring run by the “concierge” of Mallory’s family, Jules (Charles Malik Whitfield). Meanwhile, Kimmie ends up becoming a confidant—and maybe even a support system— for Horace Bellaire (Ricco Ross), Mallory’s elderly father-in-law. Oh, and did we mention he’s the head of Beauty in Black, the family’s hair care empire in Chicago?
The cast also includes big names like Debbi Morgan and Richard Lawson (who recently starred with Meagan Good in another Tyler Perry project, Divorce in the Black), among others.
In the first eight episodes, we got everything from manslaughter and strip clubs to cheating, murder, kidnapping, and revenge plots. There were flashbacks, bad parenting, BBLs, shady business decisions, and some seriously nice cars. The first half of the season really went all out, showing just how much chaos can unfold within one family. And of course, it ended on a cliffhanger, leaving us all wondering what’s next. Knowing Tyler Perry, expect plenty of surprises we didn’t see coming.
