Ella Langley is leading the pack for the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards with a total of eight nominations!
The first-time nominee has received nods in some big categories, including female artist of the year and female new artist of the year.
Interestingly, there were no nominations for Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, which won both album of the year and country album of the year at the Grammys last month. Miranda Lambert’s Postcards from Texas also missed out.
The 60th Annual ACM Awards will take place on May 8 at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, just north of Dallas. Reba McEntire will return as host.
Six of Langley’s nominations come from her hit single “You Look Like You Love Me” with Riley Green. The song is up for single of the year, song of the year (both as an artist and songwriter), music event of the year, and visual media of the year (as an artist and director).
Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, and Morgan Wallen are hot on Langley’s heels with seven nominations each. Chris Stapleton follows closely with six, and both Riley Green and Post Malone have five.
Johnson, Wilson, Wallen, and Stapleton are all nominated for the prestigious entertainer of the year award, along with Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Combs, and Jelly Roll. Wilson took home the award last year, becoming one of the few women to win it. Lambert won in 2022, while Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett tied for the title in 2020, marking the first-ever tie. Underwood’s win in 2020 was also the first time a woman won since Taylor Swift in 2012.
If Combs wins entertainer of the year, he will earn the ACMs’ Triple Crown Award, which recognizes wins in entertainer of the year, new artist (male, female, duo, or group), and artist (male, female, duo, or group) categories.
Last year, Wallen received six nominations, a significant change from just a few years ago. In 2021, he was declared ineligible after being caught on camera using a racial slur. He was nominated again in 2022 and 2023 with four nominations each year.
In the album of the year category, Megan Moroney’s Am I Okay? (I’ll Be Fine) is up against Wilson’s Whirlwind, Jelly Roll’s Beautifully Broken, Zach Top’s Cold Beer & Country Music, and Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion.
For single of the year, Shaboozey’s A Bar Song (Tipsy) will compete with Johnson’s Dirt Cheap, Malone and Wallen’s I Had Some Help, Stapleton’s White Horse, and Langley and Green’s You Look Like You Love Me.
In addition to Langley, other first-time nominees include Gavin Adcock, Dasha, Noah Kahan, Jessie Murph, Muscadine Bloodline, Shaboozey, Zach Top, The Red Clay Strays, Treaty Oak Revival, and Tucker Wetmore.
The 2025 ACM Awards will be streaming live on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch on May 8 at 8 p.m. EDT.
