They call her the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll” for good reason.
Tina Turner, the legendary icon who passed away in 2023 after a long illness at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, left behind an incredible legacy of hits. Now, fans have a treat to look forward to: a previously unreleased song, “Hot For You Baby.” It’s a high-energy ‘80s rock track that captures Tina’s signature husky voice—effortlessly cool and upbeat all at once.
This track is part of the upcoming 40th anniversary edition of her groundbreaking album, Private Dancer, set to drop on March 21. The deluxe version will come in several formats, including a massive 5 CD/Blu-ray set packed with unreleased tracks, live performances, and music videos.
“Hot For You Baby” was written by Australian singer John Paul Young and produced by John Carter. Originally intended for Private Dancer back in 1984, it didn’t make the final cut—but now, it’s finally seeing the light of day.
While Private Dancer peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, it also gave Tina her first and only No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “What’s Love Got to Do With It.” The album’s legacy is undeniable, and it’s packed with other classics like “Proud Mary,” “Nutbush City Limits,” “River Deep, Mountain High,” “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” and her unforgettable cover of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together.”
Tina’s catalog will forever live on, and this new release just adds to her already legendary status.
