In a sea of kids’ content online, one creator is making waves—not just with fun beats and rhymes, but with real heart. Meet Mr. J, a former health and PE teacher turned full-time YouTuber, who’s bringing a mix of hip-hop, movement, and social-emotional learning (SEL) to kids around the world through his channel, Hey! It’s Mr. J.
With colorful visuals, infectious hooks, and uplifting messages, Mr. J’s songs help kids navigate big feelings, build confidence, and move their bodies—all while having a blast. His latest release, “I Have Autism and I Still Shine,”highlights the voice of a child with autism, offering both visibility and empowerment—just in time for Autism Awareness Month.
“It’s so important that kids see themselves in the content they watch,” Mr. J says. “Whether they’re feeling anxious, angry, or just need to move, my songs give them a way to express themselves through fun and fitness.”
Mr. J isn’t just creating catchy tunes—he’s drawing from years of experience as an educator and coach. As a Black male educator in early childhood spaces, he’s bringing a fresh and much-needed perspective to the world of kids’ media. His videos range from get-up-and-move tracks like Jump Along to powerful affirmations like Talk It Out and I Am Enough—all designed to help young kids grow emotionally, socially, and physically.
Parents, teachers, and therapists are loving it. Many say Mr. J’s content helps little ones improve their listening skills, build resilience, and express themselves in healthy ways—even as young as two years old.
Now based in New Jersey, Mr. J is all in on his mission to bring SEL-inspired content to homes and classrooms everywhere. With a growing catalog of original music and a packed release schedule, he’s looking to team up with brands and organizations that share his passion for kids’ wellness and learning.
