George Floyd & Ahmaud Arbery Family Lawyers are demanding action, justice and change

George Floyd & Ahmaud Arbery Family Lawyers; Benjamin Crump and Lee Merritt respectively, are speaking and answering questions about the tragic killings of their clients.

The Attorneys held a virtual press conference, hosted by Van Jones. Lee Merritt started off by suggesting that it was the time for economic boycotts and sanctions – Sanctions in the communities where these killings have happened. This is in a bid to send a message that racism, police brutality, and injustice will not be tolerated any longer.

George Floyd and Ahmuad Arbery Lawyers

George Floyd’s attorney; Crump, made reference to Breonna Taylor’s case in Louisville. She died in the hands of police; in a case of mistaken identity. He said all 3 cases are just a microcosm of what he tags a “pandemic of racism” in America. He predicts unless there is serious action taken in the country in the next month or 2, there will be another unjust killing of an unarmed black person.

They both championed murder charges for all the police officers involved in the death of George Floyd; not just the one who kneeled on his neck. Just like the man who recorded video in the case of Ahmaud Arbery murder to be charged – Which he was eventually. However, federal and state prosecutors announced they are not yet charging the 4 officers involved in the arrest and death of George Floyd.

While highlighting the issues in the George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery cases, Merritt, Crump, and Van Jones made it emphasis on Breonna Taylor’s story – which has not received as much national attention as these other killings. Notwithstanding, Breonna’s family lawyers have made it clear they are pursuing justice just as much; if not more.
