Derek Chauvin; George Floyd’s Killer

Following the dismissal of Derek Chauvin and three other officers involved in the detainment of Geroge Floyd, from the Minneapolis Police, more condemnation awaits. Derek Chauvin has been taken into police custody. He was arrested on Friday, 29th of May and faces charges of 3rd-degree murder and manslaughter.

The police department initially statement said Floyd “physically resisted” the officers and that he died after “suffering medical distress.” A closer investigation from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the FBI was announced by the president. Our guess, they found something different, hence the arrest.

Derek Chauvin’s arrest comes after three days of protests in Minneapolis, with the riot in some areas erupting into violence. Minneapolis Mayor, Jacob Frey, had called this week for charges to be filed speedily against the officer who pinned Floyd under his knee. “Why is the man who killed George Floyd not in jail?” Frey asked. “If you had done it or I had done it, we would be behind bars right now.” “George Floyd deserves justice.”
