CBS has just dropped a first look teaser for Beyond the Gates, the first new daytime soap opera in years, set to take over the timeslot currently occupied by The Talk starting in the new year. This marks the first project from a partnership between CBS Studios and the NAACP.
So what’s Beyond the Gates about? The show is set in an upscale Maryland suburb just outside Washington, D.C., in one of the wealthiest African American communities in the country. Think: luxurious mansions, tree-lined streets, and a tight-knit, powerful family at the center—the Duprees, who are basically Black royalty. But behind the glamour and perfectly manicured lawns, there are some major secrets and scandals lurking. The drama unfolds as we see characters from all walks of life—those who’ve “made it” and those still working their way up—navigating love, work, and life, with varying degrees of success.
The show, which was created in partnership with P&G Studios, premieres on February 24. It’ll air weekdays at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT on CBS and will also be available to stream on Paramount+.
