A disturbing video of the young Morehouse and Spelman College students, Messiah Young and Taniyah Pilgrim being assaulted by Atlanta police as they were making their way home in midtown Atlanta went viral on social media.
According to the video footage, they were stopped by Atlanta Police, their tires were slashed, and the police smashed the window and tased Young and Pilgrim. They were dragged out of the car, beaten and arrested. Messiah however had an epileptic shock as a result of being tased and was taken to a nearby hospital.
An update stated that Taniyah was released from and is now home with a family member. Messiah is still in custody at the Fulton County Jail. He is being charged with eluding police and driving without a license.
The Spelman College student government association released a statement of support on social media.

Why is police brutality still on the rise against the black people, in spite of the protest against racism?
