Twitter owner and CEO Elon Musk announced Thursday via his Twitter account that he will be handing over reins to a new CEO. Today, he named that person. Linda Yaccarino will take his place. According to ABC News, Yaccarino used to work as an advertising executive at NBCUniversal. While she will be CEO, Musk will transition into roles as executive chairman and chief technology officer.
In addition to focussing on business operations, Yaccarino will help herald in the transformation of Twitter into the new X, which will be the “everything app.” Musk says she will start her role in about six weeks.
