Rapper and actor Method Man, a member of the Wu-Tang Clan, has been accused of assaulting 28-year-old Patrick Sokoya at a Crunch Fitness gym on Staten Island, New York. The alleged incident is reportedly linked to a past relationship involving Sokoya and the daughter of Method Man’s family.
The 53-year-old rapper is accused of punching Sokoya seven times in the face with a closed fist, according to the New York Post. The altercation is said to stem from a relationship Sokoya had with Smith’s daughter more than a decade ago.
After the incident, Sokoya reported feeling dizzy but declined medical attention. A complaint was filed with the NYPD, but no arrests were made in connection to the altercation.
Method Man’s representative, however, denied the allegations, stating, “Mr. Smith categorically denies the accusations and has not been arrested by any law enforcement agency.”
