98-Year-Old Woman achieves long time dream as she Graduates From High School

Vivian Fisher from California has finally achieved her long dream of graduating high school. She recently earned her high school diploma at the age of 98.

The graduates of Monrovia High School’Class of 2020 had an unconventional student amongst them. The 98-year-old woman was joined by her great-grandnephew, Elijah Vance, who also graduated in the drive-through ceremony.

A dream of hers since she was younger, The 98-year-old wasn’t able to graduate decades ago when she was younger. The reason; she had to work multiple jobs to provide for her family. As a result, there wasn’t enough time for her to get a formal education. Fisher, whose father was the first Black graduate of Monrovia High School and the first Black police officer in the city; she was proud to have been able to keep the family legacy.

Speaking to CBS, the 98-year-old graduate said; “Stay in school and be somebody. Being a nobody, anybody can do that.” Monrovia High School holds a special place in her heart as most of her immediate family also graduated from the school.
