114-Year-Old Ethiopian Monk Is the world’s oldest corona virus Survivor
114-year-old Ethiopian monk – Tilahun Woldemichael, is believed to be the oldest person to have survived the corona virus.
The 114-year-old was discharged from a hospital on Thursday after battling with the life-threatening sickness for almost three weeks. While he was in the hospital, he received oxygen and dexamethasone treatment. A cheap, widely available steroid recommended by Ethiopia’s health minister for use for patients who require oxygen or ventilation.
England’s Chief Medical Officer recently recognized trials in the UK showing that the drug reduced death rates from COVID-19 by around a third in those with the most severe symptoms as “the most important trial result for COVID-19 so far.”
Tilahun Woldemichae is closely followed by Maria Branyas, 113, who survived the virus in May with only mild symptoms.
